Dhoni's IPL Future Uncertain
March 07, 2025

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to begin, with MS Dhoni gearing up for his 18th season with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Dhoni, who has been an integral part of the IPL since its inception, has reportedly maken an important change to his batting. The 43-year-old has stated that he can still put his body through "six to eight months" of hard work to be fit for the league.
Ravichandran Ashwin has returned to CSK after 10 years, and will work with the team's experienced spinners. The schedule for IPL 2025 has been announced, with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the opening match on March 22. CSK will face Mumbai Indians in their opening match, although Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya will miss the game.
Sanju Samson has expressed his desire for Dhoni to continue playing in the IPL, saying he wants him to continue "thoda aur". Dhoni's future in the IPL is uncertain, with many believing that this will be his final season as a player. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter will play as an uncapped player for CSK in IPL 2025.
